Closing the Loop Campaign
The Toronto Loop consists of existing trails (and some on-road infrastructure) along the waterfront, the Humber River, Finch Avenue/Finch Hydro Corridor, and the Betty Sutherland, Don Mills and Don River Trails. The ten remaining gaps in this 75-km loop amount to less than 5,500 metres but undermine the potential value of a closed circuit and thwart greater use of the bicycle for health, affordability, transportation, recreation, and climate action.
Call to action
If you live in any of the wards where gaps in The Loop are located, please email your councillor to ask them to Close the Gaps as soon as possible -- and no later than the end of the new council term 2026-2030. If there is no gap in your riding, please email Mayor_Chow@toronto.ca to urge her to complete The Loop as soon as possible for safety, for recreation, for tourism, for transportation, and for our climate.
Here is a list of the gaps (starting with the worst) and the corresponding city councillor's email.
